Just a dream I know but can you remember when Christian Benteke leaped so high that he had to head it DOWN to get under the crossbar?

Someone once swore that against Sunderland he jumped so high he had time to wave to the traffic on the M6 before scoring, but that might have been an exaggeration.
Tis true, my doctor waved back. Let's get him back.

What happened in the second half in the way they were set up.

Us or them?  For them, he decided to start crossing from deeper, (their left back put in a shitload of crosses in second half) and using Rodriguez to be bigger thorn then Barnes was. It explains why they had a lot more chances as most was headers over or wide under pressure, however some were also some really bad misses like Rodriguez over the bar from four yards our (if he can’t use his hands in that position he can’t score the cheating bastard).

For us, Smith gave our players the usual half time nursery rhymes and ovaltine which made our player lethargic again.

For them the real change was that they pushed the full backs on and tucked the wide players in. It meant they had a lot of players around the edge of our box which drew guilbert and Taylor a little narrow and gave them space to cross from deep.

I'd forgotten all about him, easy to do mind, he's irrelevant.

His hat trick

That second goal was everything right about Benteke, absolute power, the third wasn't too shabby either.

Yes Dave, (hope your family are on the mend) do you remember the photo of his third goal?  The other players' (who were also jumping as high as they could) heads were level with Benteke's waist. It is those kind of memories that keep me going.

Great isn't it Brian.  Not wishing to digress from the thread but, do you remember Andy Lochhead's goal against Manure in the '71 League Cup semi-final at Villa Park.  It's forever etched into my memory.  Ian Ure goes up to meet the ball to head it away just a split second too soon, misses contact altogether and is on his way down as Andy passes him on the way up and bang! Villa equalise.

Gang are all well now Brian thanks.  The little bleeders are hyper!

I do indeed Dave.  Where would be without these kind of memories?  Which was the game when Andy Gray jumped so high at the Witton End that air traffic control were alerted?

That 'shot' he did 2nd half from around 30 yards was pathetic. It dribbled out of play in slow motion.
