Aston Villa 5 Liverpool 0.
It doesn't matter who turned up for them.
Professional job done.
Good to see James Chester back playing and I was pleased Kodjia and Wes both scored.
Hopefully this will be a confidence booster going into Saturday. UTV!

We did what we needed to, so job done. Apparently Trez is still out there trying to score...

Oh, and I’d start Kodjia on Saturday too.

Ultimately we got a very lucky draw given the circumstances. Was worried about being embarrassed but sidestepped that comfortably. Another lucky draw in semis now please.

Although more and more I am starting to wonder what the point of Jota is.
I thought he played pretty well actually.  He knocks it around better than most of our lot.  His overall effectiveness though is limited by being painfully slow.

Playing out wide simply isn’t his position now even if it was when he was younger. Although I doubt he was ever quick. He’s better served behind the forward versus against fast full backs.

Completely agree with this. I think he’s probably one of the best players at picking out a pass at the club, but is too slow out wide. In the hole just behind the forward would be perfect for him but would possibly need a tactical shift round to accommodate it.

On the whole in a no win situation, perfect result and professional performance. Nyland, Elmo, Chester and Luiz (2nd half) stand outs.

Likely to be Man U, Man City and Leicester other semi finalists. Never thought I’d ever say this, but give us Man U now.

Onto Saturday, massive game.

We won.
You can only beat what’s put in front of you.

However, Trezeguet is fucking rubbish.

Jots has quick feet and an eye for a pass, agree he should be in the 10 role.
Not quick or strong enough to play wide and not sure how you play him in 4 3 3

I reckon Luis will be a top player for us .  wasnt has bad as some made out .  Taylor shows why he is championship lik Lansbury . Trez needs to practice his finishing . Kod and Wesley together could have worked. Nyland excellent .

Going forward Hogwarts looked very assured, but defensively it was a case of bigger players bullying them.

We won.

Our reserves enjoyed playing too, you could see it on their faces

Nyland was cracking.

No room for complaints from me.

We did a great service to Carabao Cup in particular and football in general tonight. Liverpool disrespected this competition and were rightly trounced. Forget this rubbish about kids, they fielded a team, we sorted it so fuck em I say.

Haha. Yes mate. Agreed.

Blimey if you read their after match debate on RAWK they can't stand us and are desperately hoping to thrash us in the league game at Anfield as well as send us down.

I wonder what players Liverpool could have fielded given the fact their senior squad were otherwise engaged. If they had no choice but to play all the kids fine. If they omitted certain out of the first team picture senior players who could have played just to prove a point then they are out of order as the kids could have done with some more senior back up rather than being thrown to the lions.

Thought before he came on that a duel spearhead of Kodja and Wes could work but wasn't to be.. Thought Kodja ran the lines well but still over does things, even against the kids Taylor was awful thought the ball control of the under23s was excellent and superior to our reserves.
