What today’s Guardian says:

Wesley needs to enhance his game with goals
The last time Aston Villa travelled to Old Trafford – in April 2016 – they lost 1-0 and were relegated. Hear this now: Villa are too good to go down this season, especially if Jack Grealish stays fit. Their prospects would be even brighter if Wesley started scoring regularly. The striker does plenty of admirable work but has had opportunities to score much more than four goals in 13 league games. Villa could pose United a lot of trouble in midfield on Sunday, particularly if Scott McTominay is not in top condition, but they will probably need Wesley to be clinical if they are to complete a significant victory.

McGinn could do with a rest, as he has basically played out of his skin the last couple of months and if Dean Smith can understand the importance of subs and when to use them, he can come on mid-2nd half.

I'd also swap Kodja for Wesley as at least he knows what the goal is for.

Wesley can hold the ball up but thats all he seems to be able to do.

Well thats us screwed then if we are relying on Wesley.

Well Gabby got the winner last time,we won there, who is gonna get the winner this time. I'm going for SJM, 1-0 to the Villa yet again.

That would certainly increase the clamour for United to sign SJM.

If we beat them by five goals we go above them.

If we simply beat them by just one goal and
  • Leicester beat Everton at home
  • Chelsea beat West Ham at home
  • Citeh beat Newcastle away.
  • Liverpool beat Brighton at home
  • Burnley beat Palace at home
  • Tottenham beat Bournemouth
then we are up to eleventh.
FTF!

I really fancy us to sneak a result on Sunday however, if we are in front with 5 minutes to go I will be cashing out my win bet! I am still having disturbed sleep from my failure to cash out on the Liverpool game >:(

In fairness he's really telling fans of other clubs what he thinks having watched us more than they have. Also good to have an outsider's perspective on things like our survival chances and the potential of Wesley.

I think you are being kind Monty. Writing "if Wesley started scoring regularly" and "probably need Wesley to be clinical" isn't being particularly perceptive or informative.
Anyway, I've hated this bunch since 1967 so we just need to win, just once please, and no collapse at 87 mins.

It fits a pattern of journos suddenly declaring we’ll be fine this season including, ominously, camp Lawro in his weekend predictions.

It’s interesting when we’re all still pretty split on our prospects.

Oh yes. Doh! Facepalm etc. This is why you need a qualified accountant to do your books and, ahem, know how to add and subtract from two small columns.

Even better FTF!

Lawro has been lauding us since the start of the season. We'd be challenging for Europe in his "table".

I miss Mark Fletcher's weekly Lawro Predicts thread where he'd take the piss out of him.
