If we beat them by five goals we go above them.

If we simply beat them by just one goal and
  • Leicester beat Everton at home
  • Chelsea beat West Ham at home
  • Citeh beat Newcastle away.
  • Liverpool beat Brighton at home
  • Burnley beat Palace at home
  • Tottenham beat Bournemouth
then we are up to eleventh.
FTF!

If we beat them by 3 goals we go above them.
Oh yes. Doh! Facepalm etc. This is why you need a qualified accountant to do your books and, ahem, know how to add and subtract from two small columns.

Even better FTF!

However, you weren't wrong in your original assertion!

This probably the first time since 2009 that it wouldn’t be outside the bounds of possibility that we could get a result here - well at least a draw.

We are up against though. They’ll no doubt get a penalty and we’ll obviously be denied one.
Time also for VAR to reveal itself conclusively as a total pile of sh*t.

Well Gabby got the winner last time,we won there, who is gonna get the winner this time. I'm going for SJM, 1-0 to the Villa yet again.

Gabby had such potential then. Great save from Friedel at the end too.

Gone for a draw in the poll, but I really think we can win this.

Just listened to Deano’s pre-match presser. What a genuine man. Very, very honest. No bullshit with this bloke, says it as it is. Spoke highly of Tuanzebe. He was one of the loan players along with Tammy, who it would have been great to keep.

Come on Villa, FTF!!

Them 3 Us 1

Just don't seem to have the same belief away from VP at the minute - if it was at our place I'd fancy we'd nail them

First time at OT since we lost to Liverpool in 1996. Would love to see us getting a win and we are capable of it.

I'm going tomorrow for the first time since a 1-1 draw. Their scorer was Forlan, a player that didn't score very often in the Prem for them.

There was a stat I saw the other day, couldn't believe it so had to actually go through the seasons and Soccerbase to verify it.

We have only scored more than one goal at Old Trafford v them in one game since 1993, the 3-2 defeat in April 2009.

I think that sums up the on pitch coma we seem to go into up there when off the top of my head I can recall 5-6 times we've gone to Arsenal and Liverpool and scored at least two goals. We also had those 4-4s at Spurs and Chelsea in 07/08.

Can see us matching them for long periods, having a couple of decent chances then them scoring 2 in 3 minutes half way through the second half to take the points.

Very, very hope that scenario is miles off...

Not on TV. Think it is Leicester v Everton, or something like that.

Quite glad it isn't on TV tbh.

I think we've only scored more than 1 up there 4 times since winning 3-4 there in 1930. The 3-2 you mention, the 1-2 win in '83, a 2-2 draw in 1962 and 3-3 in 1980.

Come on Villa boys, let's do these today! Make no mistake this is a big game for them when Aston Villa come to town. Their theatre of silence won't know what's hit them when the Villans from Aston show up. Sing long and proud.
If we can play for the full 90+ minutes, take advantage of our dead ball situations like last Monday and have unbiased officiating (slim chance of that really) we can get something from this game, hopefully 3 points! Come on Dean Smith's claret and blue army! UTV!
