Wasn't a great performance but didn't need to be.

Luiz and the 2CB were good.

We looked the part. Shame about the defensive lapses but otherwise we looked better all over the pitch and closed the game out well which is encouraging as it suggests we’re learning and improving at game management.

Fair bit of build up, non event.  Neither Davis or Kodjia did much to put pressure on Wes for the weekend, especially with the injury.  Luiz MOTM by a distance.

Wolves offered nothing apart from keeping a good shape, we created most of their chances.

Missed it, stuck on our glorious M6. At least we won and we rested a few for Saturday.

Player ratings tonight? Anyone at all putting pressure on getting in the team for Liverpool? Luiz, Hourihane, Trez and AEG had the most to gain pre-game you would think.

Kodjia looked very good to me. Really up for up it and some good running.

Usual bullshit being spouted on WM.  Mel Eves Villa first teamers playing only a bit better bla bla bla. We looked like we were in 2nd gear.
