I’ve just watched Football Focus for the first time in years. They ended with the big game of the weekend, Spurs v Man City and wrapped it up with Dion Dublin saying that every team in the league bar Man City and Arsenal are inconsistent but Pep will like City being under the radar chasing Arsenal.
Dion should stick to Homes under the hammer!

Because as a Villa fan, he knows that Unai will enjoy being under the radar even more. There's no need to broadcast our title credentials on national TV.

Yeah, Dublin's allegiance is always pretty clear. He knows what side his bread is buttered.

I’m glad too that we’re under the radar, but I wouldn’t say Man City are. It’s still very odd nonetheless that there was four in the studio listening to Dublin saying everyone is inconsistent this year.

They either ignore Villa or say “he’s done great job there”.

Even the lovely Gabby Logan follows the narrative.

"Arsenal at the top extend thier lead to 7 points but Man City can reduce it to 4 with a win tomorrow, Chelsea move into 4th"

This is not just Midlands paranoia, this is as deliberate as can be

I watch the highlights on the BBC app, on mute, without any of the bollocks. Can't be arsed to hear these so called experts.

to be fair to Gabby Logan, she's the host, I doubt she writes her own scripts.

And he gets paid for saying that!

And in a similar vein

Todsy's Guardian's weekly feature:

Premier League: 10 talking points from the weekend’s action

Points one: Casemeiro is thriving under Carrick
Point two: Arsenal lose their concentration
Point three: Newcastle are short of creativity

There isn't a point about Aston Invisible
I’ve noticed that there quite regularly isn’t a point about Villa. I do think we suffer from being in-between the reach of Fleet Street and the Manchester Guardian.

To her fair they concentrate on one point per game so it often involves one side or the other, rarely both. But sometimes they have 2 separate points about one big game* to cover both sides.

* A game which feature their favoured sides.

It's as if they're literally blind to discussing any other clubs outside the usual suspects.

Astonishingly, this was from Things To Look Out For in yesterday's Guardian:

Douglas Luiz already vital for Villa
How will Unai Emery solve Aston Villa’s midfield conundrum? The obvious answer is Douglas Luiz, who this week returned on loan with an option to re-sign the Brazilian permanently, after Youri Tielemans joined John McGinn and Boubacar Kamara on the sidelines. Douglas Luiz’s last game for Nottingham Forest – last week’s defeat in Braga – ended in disappointment. His was a performance in keeping with a difficult few months, with the 27-year-old limited to five league starts after joining on loan from Juventus. When Villa visited Brentford in August, Tielemans, McGinn and Kamara all started alongside Amadou Onana. Now the 18-year-old academy youngster George Hemmings, who made his debut last month, is seemingly next in line. Villa do not plan to add further in central midfield before Monday’s transfer deadline, so Emery needs the return of Douglas Luiz to work.

90% of the time, the thing to look out for involves Villa's opponents..
