Having said that, if it was a penalty for Yanited, VAR likely wouldn't have got involved.
I haven't seen it, I'll be honest, but it sounds exactly like the kind of double-standard we should all hate.If there was a foul, Young's acting is irrelevant. If there was no foul, Young should be booked for diving.But this appears to be one of those subjective incidents where Ashley Young is condemned for 'overacting' and Bruno Fernandes is praised for being 'clever'.
Even with one of the Everton goals (might have been the first one), you got the sense that the VAR was desperately trying to find a reason to rule it out.
Reminded me that Emi Martinez is a huge factor in our defence, frightening / distracting the opposing players running towards him. What a great player he is.
