Showed it at least. But the downside when they show a late match is they don't spend as much on following analysis then like they did for the Manure match.

Reminded me that Emi Martinez is a huge factor in our defence, frightening / distracting the opposing players running towards him. What a great player he is.

I don't think the Everton one was a pen, as Young oversold the dive. Having said that, if it was a penalty for Yanited, VAR likely wouldn't have got involved.

He did oversell it, but it was still a pen imo

I haven't seen it, I'll be honest, but it sounds exactly like the kind of double-standard we should all hate.

If there was a foul, Young's acting is irrelevant. If there was no foul, Young should be booked for diving.

But this appears to be one of those subjective incidents where Ashley Young is condemned for 'overacting' and Bruno Fernandes is praised for being 'clever'.

Just watching the MOTD catch up.

"What a difference a David makes."

Won't miss Gary Rinkarse's shite patter when he shuffles off at the end of the season.

Two short shirt pulls by De Ligt and a grab at by 50p. All contrived to mean Young wasn't getting the ball, but a penalty was never being given unless he went to ground because Refs don't seem to think of them unless the player shows obvious impediment. As others have mentioned, there was more contact in the Bogarde one, but as he didn't go to ground enough, the ref decided no foul. VAR needs to answer definitely why they showed the ref angles only from one side for the Young one, and why they think a player actually digging in the heels to pull a player back is not a foul.

Everyone knows, pundits, commentators, Opposition fans, and players that had Young been dressed in red the pen would have stood. It was never a clear and obvious error but it became one because of the colour of his kit and who it was against.

Even with one of the Everton goals (might have been the first one), you got the sense that the VAR was desperately trying to find a reason to rule it out.

TBF, if the Everton player had touched it, he was offside. However on the first 5 passthroughs it should have been seen that there was no credible evidence of the touch so give it.

From the BBC Text, sounds like Hitz and Warnock on MOTD duty tonight.
