Don't forget Champions League MOTD coming up in a few minutes. If we aren't on first, Villa Tim will spontaneously combust.

They could be saving us for last.

No. Ah, well.

I'm pleased to say we are on before Spurs.

Even Celtic on before us . Not like we're top of the league or anything.

They played tonight. It's exactly what you'd expect. Just watching now and they're having a big discussion about us. Morgan Rogers getting star treatment and a great insight into Unai Emery's methods. No other club recieved such in depth analysis. You seem determined to be offended by motd.

2 mins 56 seconds of match coverage.
Then a nice 2 mins 59 on Rogers brilliance and Unai's obsession.

The worst period was the early 80s, Coppell instead of Morley etc.

And how many of our 1982 European Champions played in the 1982 World Cup? Even the Scottish players.

Alan Evans only one I think. Scotland had unwritten rule to not have more than half players outside their league

 No they didn't.

Evans played v NZ then was replaced by Miller. That was it.

No other Scots were picked. No Cowans, No Morley, No Shaw in England squad. Players England were crying out for in that 2nd phase. Waited for injured Brooking and Keegan instead along with Graham Rix. Madness

I wasn't disagreeing with that, I was disagreeing with your assertion that Scotland had a rule, unwritten or otherwise, that over half the squad had to be from the Scottish league. A cursory glance at the Scotland squads from that period reveals it to be incorrect.

Tim, I really reckon you need to start thinking about something else. This preoccupation with how we're represented in the media can't be doing your health any good.

What's the obsession with being on immediately, anyway? Does VillaTim go to gigs and start complaining if the support band are on first? "I want Phil Collins and I want him now!"

I thought the went above and beyond. Nice to see for a change and it shows that if you keep winning with style and with exciting players they can’t keep ignoring you.

Especially as they had both ours and Arses matches on and only went back to ours. I suspect as we had two Emery cheerleaders in the studio, that helped. Bigging up Rogers more and more as well.
