MOTD's goal of the month is a public vote so it's a popularity contest anyway, so Liverpool and Man Utd win more than they should if it was based on merit.
Who selects the shortlist ?

#First.

I did think Liverpool would be first but it is a bad news story

From a highlights point of view, I think it will be short. I expect the studio will be more on Everton being 2-0 up and fucked it up as well.

Rest assured it is Danny LFC Murphy slagging of DCL even though he gave CHs a hard time. Yep it would have been an Everton waltz without Calvert Lewin's contribution.
Murphy is a fucking bellend on MOTD

I was surprised that there was more highlights then expected, and it was more of how we scored our goals.

Still loads left out for me. Some of Morgan's good stuff including goal chances (3 shots on target) - no reference of first goal poor play on our part. Watkins misses glossed over.

Ahh maybe I am tired and nit picking.

My 5 year old will enjoy tomorrow morning having been at the game.

Universally acknowledged that we have the best keeper in the world. Not according to Danny Murphy. A Villa fan has definitely banged the prick's wife at some point.

Im not a fan of Danny Murphy, but I’m not sure what he’s done wrong tonight, i thought he was pretty complimentary about us.

Yeah, the MOTD coverage was fine tonight, even if we were only first because Spurz and Arsenal don't play until tomorrow.

The highlights and analysis were much shorter than you'd expect for first game up. I switched off after us so not sure if it was a reduced running time following the delay thanks to those cunts at the Proms?

But they were complimentary about us, and as much as people might begrudge a focus on Everton, them losing their fourth game in a row (two of which were after giving up a two-goal lead) is a bigger story than a top four side beating an inferior side at home.

Highlights is normally because they can't show as much for the live evening games, plus they then decided ours was first anyway due to the 3-2 repeat story when Liverpool losing was the plan. But I didn't expect the coverage to be more on how good and worked our goals were rather then Everton blew it again. Although DCL missing two very good chances did need a mention.
