That’s an annoying result, we threw that one away in our second innings, FFS Bears!

3rd session yesterday was the problem, we let them build 2 big partnerships and didn't really look like we had any ideas on how to take the wickets. 328 should have been enough to defend so I don't blame the batting. Very frustrating result when we look very close to being a good team this season.

I blame the batting, three of the top four failed again in both innings, this is a recurring problem from last season, when we lose a wicket we immediately lose two or three more. It’s so frustrating!

I recall a conversation I was lucky to have with the then Sussex chairman a couple of years ago. He told me that the stats indicated that batting last at Hove is a good idea as the pitch has a record of flattening out towards the end of the game.

We won the toss and elected to bat in slightly tricky conditions.

Not a great start this morning, Davies gone for nothing and Yates for 8 leaving us 12/2 in the 5th over.

Looks like a bad toss to have lost because the conditions aren't great right now.

At present you have to bowl first in any match at Edgbaston. The drainage has ruined the wicket so they leave extra grass on and then it flattens out as the match progresses!

3 now with Mousley also gone lbw for 10, I think he's pretty unlucky though, looked a bit high, a bit like it might be drifting too far and going down leg and like it hit him outside the line. It's one that would definitely have been appealed at international level.

4 down, no idea what Webster was doing there, absolute gift of a wicket.

48/4 and 200 is looking like a tough ask.

Our title challenge has already turned into a relegation battle and it isn't even May.

Was going to head down for the afternoon but don't think I'll bother.
