Hopefully Derby is a battting paradise because it looks like Pears will be chasing 650/700 for parity….Andersson is well on target for 300+ to start the season.

An enjoyable day at Edgbaston despite the umpires desperation to go off for "bad light".....

Hopefully this is a breakout year for Dan Mousley. Way too talented to be averaging 28 in FC cricket

Well done, Bears. No county ground with lights should ever have the players go off for bad light. I don't think there has ever been a sport so desperate to annoy its paying customers as cricket.

Saw this image on social media, the gap where the hotel and new stand is going looks very small!

What is the general feeling on this development? It seems a shame to me that they’re not just building the biggest fuck off stand they can in that position, to increase the overall capacity over 30k. Presumably they’ve decided that having more than 25k for a handful of days a year just doesn’t benefit them as much as the hotel running all year round would? It’s the only part of the ground that could accommodate a deeper stand and significantly increase the capacity.

Nice to see Jimmy Anderson is still taking five-fers for Lancs at the age of 43.

Time machine, please.

Jimmy and Woakes have both looked exceptional so far this round of matches, England would love them both to be 10-15 years younger.

Bears get maximum batting points and are looking in really good nick. Put another 100ish on the board (for a lead of the best part of 250) and then get them in for the last hour or 2 of the day to push for the win.

It’s actually quite a large gap. It was two different stands.

From backward point to extra cover.

I think 120 bed hotel. Just hope it won’t take too much light from the ground. Second day I’ve watched this match now and it’s definitely affected the conditions with the wind. Wind comes in the gap and then swirls around the ground! Hoping to see a few wickets in this final session!

Pears batsmen will need to bat properly 2nd time round if derby enforce follow on, likely to be a day and an hour or so to get a draw…too many got a start and got out today
