Terrific effort from the Bears to avoid the follow on. We have some really talented batsmen coming through at present, just need a bowler or two.

Yates has had an awful summer, this time last year he looked like being an option for England, now he's barely troubling the scorers.

Just realised that it's the One Day Cup, that they don't even pretend to give a shit about, not the Championship.

Not one Worcester player has been selected for the 100, it’s no surprise when players want to leave to join the bigger clubs, and get more exposure to the big contracts the 100 offers.

Surprised no one took a late gamble on Ethan Brookes, as he is in great form, Worcester should do well in this one day cup as they can select a first choice XI in theory.

Equally surprised Bosco…would have thought Brookes and Hose would have been selected…as would Kashif if he hadn’t averaged about 12 all summer :-)

Hose is with the Trent Rockets I believe?

I'm not a fan of The Hundred and don't follow it really, but just wondering where Knighthead's investment in Birmingham Phoenix leaves fellow Villa fans who might follow that team?

The investment is in Warwickshire CCC who sold a 49% stake in their crisp team to Knighthead.

Goes to show how much I know about it, I thought they were ECB franchises!!  So the 49% stake is just in Birmingham Phoenix?

Yes, 49% of a bag of quavers and a multipack of hula hoops.

The franchises were fully owned by the counties that stage international matches. The money this is bringing in will bail out the rest of the counties for the next few years and they desperately need the cash. I’m surprised that a county hasn’t gone under before now, some have come very close in the past.

I still don’t like the Hundred though!

The ECB sold the 49% stake, not Warwickshire. Warwickshire own 51% of the franchise but were given it by the ECB. Some other counties have sold all or part of their stake (e.g. Yorkshire, Lancashire)
