Thanks for the detailed responses, I've always wondered.

They make a big song and dance because a lot of money has been invested in it. But I've yet to meet a cricket fan of any age or level of interest who'd prefer to watch, say, Manchester Originals vs Trent Rockets in the Hundred to Lancs vs Notts in the T20.

This is a Bears/Pears thread.  A reminder that Birmingham has nothing to do with it.  In my opinion.

It also says domestic cricket.

I don't like The Hundred but it clearly comes under the heading of "Domestic Cricket" so people should be free to comment on it if they wish.

Just as I am free to silently judge them for doing so. 😉

Back in the 50 over game, Bears make it two wins from two with a comfortable win at Leicester. Dismissed the hosts for 88 with Barnard taking 4 for 21. Made a stuttering start to go 7 for 2 before an unbeaten 48 from Rhodes helped see us home with eight wickets and 32.4 overs to spare.

Rhodes is leaving at the end of the season

Shame, he's been a really good all-rounder for us for years.

Great spot by Ashley Giles, when Will was playing in the Yorkshire Seconds.

Desperate finish to the cricket at Hove!

Sussex got off to a flier with 70/0 off the first ten overs. Bears then bowled well (especially Booth) and we chipped away until they were all out for 173.

Bears got off to a bad start, Rhodes and Smith coming to the rescue but even so, it took the last pair to just get us over the line.

Nurse!

Sorry Rory I didn’t mean it to sound so serious I was just trying to distance myself from the 100.  Please accept my apologies.

No great fan of the 100 but Bethell and Mousley are just tremendous cricketers, I wonder if England recognition is imminent?

I reckon both of them (and Yates possibly) have a decent shout for a white ball call up as part of the reset that those squads are crying out for. The only problem is that I can see it being an either-or course given they play such a similar role. Bethel is probably slightly more explosive so I'd guess he'll get the call if they only go for 1 of them.

Mousley's bowling last night was fantastic.
