I've spent 11 years teaching my fiancee how 'all the numbers' work.

That's unbelievably cruel.

Haha, serves her right for stubbornly maintaining that cricket scoring is complicated, just to wind me up.

I can't recall being taught how to interpret cricket scores and I can't remember a time when I couldn't. Maybe I was born with the innate knowledge. I too have had to impart this sacred wisdom to a semi willing partner.

Incidentally, while discussing the Hundred's horrendous graphics with my Dad today, he confirmed that when he was younger they didn't have the score on the screen in televised matches but would occasionally show the scoreboard. I remember football matches not having the current score (I think it was a Sky invention) but I can't remember there not being some sort of score information for cricket. I wonder when it changed.

The Bears have signed Mohammed Siraj for the final three championship matches in September. I still think we need a miracle though but it’s good to see them trying something.

The game at home to Somerset is massive and we're capable of winning.
Get some form of a result at Gloucester and we should be OK
Hants at home to follow.

Unfortunately i'll miss the Somerset game....booked a holiday caravan up in Barmouth

Don't think we need a miracle but will be tough. Wish the bastards would play matches on days that people can actually attend.

So Worcs have released Fell, Dell & Banton….the fact they couldn’t get a game in a crud batting line up  was telling….shame Pollock couldn’t go on that list too

Siraj is a good signing, could be the difference between staying up and relegation.

He hasn’t changed:-) couple of dynamic innings and about 25 single figure ones nearly all stupid shots :-)

Another dismal performance  from the Bears against Middlesex today Surely we must have the poorest bowling attack in the land, it takes some doing to concede nearly 400 runs for just three wickets and one of them was a lucky run out  Has anyone seen Chris Woakes ?  i am sure i read sometime back in July him saying he  would be playing next week

Better performance from the Bears against Durham today and deserved the win . At the end of our innings we had a 16 year and a 17 year old ,made me feel really old

With the top 2 playing each other means one will be left on 10 points, Gloucester played out. Fixtures tomorrow:
Leicester v Durham leicester win 12 points
Sussex v Middlesex Winner 12 points loser 10 points
Bears v Somerset Bears win 11 points
Notts v Surrey...doesnt really matter to bears
So if we win we're through....lose and we're out anyway.

I'm now going Bears tomorrow instead of Bolton.

If we win tomorrow i reckon an away tie at Hants or Lancs depending on results tomorrow

Is the George Maddy that kept wicket yesterday Darren Maddy’s son?
