The actual cricket in the Hundred is fine to watch, it's everything else, it's just horrendous and the commentator just used the phrase "brain fart".

Fucking hell.

Great knock from Smeed.

I had to turn off last night, the "brainfart' commentator was like an over excited local DJ at the Grand Opening of a Bejam.

Of course he's been topped tonight by "KP" calling balls bowled "rocks". Jesus, Mary and Joseph and all the Saints.

A batter has just hit a 6 that registered 66 on the "powerometer".

Personally think it seems to lost some momentum already and will hopefully be ended in the near future.  Saying that, would keep it in the women's game.

No idea how Birmingham Phoenix won that after a poor batting display.

The Hundred has a contract until at least 2028

Getting back to proper cricket....A very disappointing performance from Bears yesterday,Bowled poorly and ended up
needing 339 which we didn't even get a sniff at. Shame to lose our unbeaten tag with barely a whumper.

Time to revise the definition of "sold out", something our neighbours in Small Heath and Sangwell might like to adopt.

And they've abandoned actual cricket scoring. I've spent 11 years teaching my fiancee how 'all the numbers' work. She got to grips with it once she realised the numbers with the '/' were the important ones. Nowadays, she'll ask me if it's a Test, ODI or T20, and then process the match situation.

She knows it's important to me so tries to understand it, bless her.

The fucking Hundred has changed all of that.

"I thought an over was six bowls?"
"It is, but they've changed it for this."
"So Tests won't last as long? Because there aren't as many bowls?"
"No, Tests, ODIs and T20s aren't affected."
"But you told me they wear coloured uniforms in ODIs and T20s? They have coloured uniforms. But this isn't one of those?"
"No, it's different, for some reason."
"Right, so the Birmingham Phoenix are Warwickshire?"
"Not really, it's a franchise thing, so there isn't a county connection, necessarily."
"So would Birmingham Phoenix play Birmingham Bears?"
"No, they're different formats."
"But Birmingham Bears used to be Warwickshire?"
"Yes."
"But now they're not?"
"No."
"Why did they change if there's going to be another 'Birmingham' team?"
"Lack of foresight."
"Okay...so Smith and Wright are batting?"
"No, Smith is batting, Wright is bowling."
"Why are they next to each other on the graphic?"
"I don't know."
"...so Phoenix have scored 85?"
"Yes."
"And they've lost...53 wickets?"
"No no, that is the number of balls bowled. The wickets are on the other side."
"Why have they put it there?"
"I don't know."
"Right, so they're 85?"
"Yep"
"And they've lost 7 wickets?"
"No, that's not wickets, it's the number of balls Smith has faced."
"So why is it there?"
"I don't know."
"So how many wickets have they lost?"
"Four."
"Where does it say that?"
"Over there."
"Why is it not next to the runs like the rest of cricket?"
"I don't know."
"So...they've got 85 runs, and have lost 4 wickets?"
"Yes."
"With 53 balls bowled?"
"Yes."
"So...how many overs are left?"
"Erm, I think it's...oh fuck this, switch over to UK Gold!"

That's unbelievably cruel.
