You have to ask what is happening at Edgbaston when England internationals would rather ply their trade elsewhere than play for the Bears. I hope that there’s a few coming in, Sibley, Stone and possibly Hose are leaving and will need replacing.

12 points clear of the drop with Somerset having a game in hand, if they draw. If they are able to take ten wickets today (play due to start at 2.35pm) we will be just 3 points clear.

Only just noticed that you now get as many points for a draw as you do for a tie. Ridiculous rule change. They should be doing everything they can to engineer a result for the watching supporters.

Glamorgan's Sam Northeast hits 410 no against Leics, first player to reach 400 in the County Championship since Brian Lara in 1994 and his score is the 3rd highest in English domestic cricket history.

Incredible- and Glamorgan declared at 795- 5 having been 9-2 then going from 315-2 to 334-5

Northeast smashed the Glamorgan record of 309 held by Steve James.

I’ve messaged Steve to see if he’s planning a comeback to try to regain top spot :)

Nothing been said on here about the current match so:

Bears currently 163/4 in their 2nd innings with a lead of 100.
Hain 43*
Rhodes 13*

Pitch has a bit in it, which has stopped anyone from either team really pushing on for a big score. I reckon a lead of 200ish will be competitive.

It has been quite slow though, which has led to the WM commentator spending a fair bit of every day so far moaning about the risk of being given Quinoa at lunch, a fear that was realised today apparently.

Decent last few hours. Would we risk declaring to try to win?

The final session has certainly made it an option and a win here would be a massive boost to our chances of avoiding the drop. I can see us having a steady start to get the lead to about 240-250 and then swinging for an hour and giving ourselves 65-70 overs to see if we can sneak them out. Securing the draw and points in the bag will be priority though so I can't see a declaration until they're looking at a 5-6 an over chase.

Yes i absolutely agree, they simply have to erase any possible chance of losing the game.
Yesterday one of our better days of the season.

Really hate the new rule to make draws worth the same as ties. It discourages attacking declarations.

All of yesterday’s hard work undone in losing 4 wickets in 14 balls this morning

Not necessarily. Need a big display from the bowlers and we can win this. Draw looks the least likely outcome now (unless it rains, I haven't checked the forecast).

Make that 5.
298/9 lead 235.
Disgraceful decision from Billy Taylor to give Hain ct behind down leg. Nowhere near it.
He gave a dubious LBW as well which looked as though going down.
