The BBC seem to think Somerset's batting lineup is shit so I'll blame them if it goes tits up, now. They've started well, 21 without loss.

On averages they're not great, Ali is the only one with any sort of first class batting record with most of the batters and all-rounders averaging in the late 20s or early 30s at best.

Lewis Gregory is a bit of an anomaly in the stats because he's barely played red ball cricket. Like last week it looks like it's potentially a long tail if we can get into them.

We need to get a bit tighter with the bowling though, too many balls they've been able to get to the fence so far.

Very good delivery for the wicket. Ali is the big wicket though, if we can get him early it'll be a big boost.

Lancs recovered to 141 all out in the end….Trailing by 2, but Hants have the 3 bowling points

very good from the lower order that, could easily have gone for a really low total given the way the day started for them. By getting pretty much parity they mean that all results are still in play there, which suits us.

On our game we could do with breaking this pairing soon, Lammonby is dangerous once he gets set (he's a bit feast or famine) and Ali is experienced enough to just sit in and let the others bat around him.

Hants 0/1 is their 2nd innings, opener gone for a 3rd ball duck.

Hants 2 down now

Does anyone have any idea why Mason Crane was opening for them? Seems like a bizarre experiment given he's never looked like anything other than an average tail-ender.

EDIT: He came in at 9 in the first innings and the guy who came in at 3 is the normal opener so I can't work out what the point of that was.

These two are becoming a pain. This stand needs to be broken soon…
