Decent recovery after a dreadful start. We were 7 for 2, now 77 for 2 at lunch. Benjamin and Hain both in the thirties.

I see Sibley has brought his England form back to this match. Another batting failure by the openers. Some people have suggested Benjamin is only a white ball player, I beg to differ...

Benjamin looks the real deal. Bears in great position after day one.

Agreed, he looks a great find, good wicketkeeper as well.

really disappointing from Lamb and Burgess to miss out on the third batting point, almost seemed to forget it was a thing until the 110th over and left themselves needing 10 which they couldn't quite manage having just nudged (for no runs) and defended for half an hour.

There is no excuse for not being able to get 300 runs in 110 overs. Piss poor.

particularly when you come in to bat at 272/5 in the 94th over. to not be able to make 2 an over from that point was just poor. It felt like they'd forgotten bonus points existed until the 109th and were then trying to throw everything at it in a late rush. Lancs were bowling ok but there were enough gaps to take a fair few extra singles.

Again Rhodes Lamb and Burgess have come in with a decent lead and slowed the game down. This was always likely to be a draw so I'[m not sure why you'd come in with a lead of 150+ and plenty of wickets in the bag and decide to go at a rate of 20-30%.

Is Pollock just a white ball player?  Worcs need to replace the white ball efforts of Whiteley & occasionally Wessels but are also needing at least one red ball batsman, two or three required if Mitchell retires

The Warks/Hants game had a delayed start today while an investigation was carried out into a positive covid test amongst the Hampshire contingent. Not holding the Bears back though. Hampshire skittled out for 89, Rhodes 5/23

Brilliant bowling from the bears (you can watch on their youtube channel) the first wicket by Miles was the pick of the bunch for me.
