Tim Ambrose has called time on his career finishing at end of this season...whenever that may be.

Been a great servant to Bears.

I see Nick Hockley from Edgbaston became Interim CEO at Cricket Australia and a day later Graeme Hick was out on his ear.

Quote
English cricket's 18 counties have passed a majority vote to play both red ball and white ball cricket when the delayed 2020 season starts on 1 August.

After three and a half months lost following the coronavirus pandemic, several dissenting counties had hoped to play white-ball cricket only, as it is more financially beneficial.

But the majority also wanted first-class cricket to appease members.

His always been a bit barrel-chested.  I remember some cricket writer saying he "has the air of a man with an emergency cheese sandwich in his back pocket."

Crowds at "test events" now banned again. So if you were planning to go tomorrow, don't, they won't let you in!

Oh well, I can join the crowds at the supermarket tomorrow instead, then perhaps a drive to Stratford to test my eyesight?

Well done Rob Yates, 88no and Tim Bresnan, 50no. A good 6th wicket stand. Yates is a real prospect at only 20 - carrying on from last season.

Bears declare, Northants need 228 to make us bat again. Weather doesn't look great for tomorrow morning but should still be plenty of time to get ten wickets. If I'm being greedy, I'd like a couple this evening.

Northants, somewhat annoyingly, making a game of it. Lead less than 100, two wickets down. Wouldn't really want to be chasing anything North of 150, no idea what the pitch will be like after months out of action.
