We saw in the Durham game how our bowlers struggle against the good sides, and Joe's not getting any younger (33 this month).

I'm pleased we recovered to post 280-odd at the close, equalling Leicester's bonus point, and lets face it, Leicester are not winning that game, so we should be up.  But, fucking Azhar Ali fails for the umpteenth time.  Supposed to be an international class batsman and someone we could be looking to extend for Division 1 next season, but good riddance to him.  Driven me mad this season.  Come on you Pears.

Due to rain tomorrow apparently.  We only need 20 runs to get the second bonus point to promote us.

....and sorted, well done Pears. The key involvement of B L D'Oliveira will always give me a warm feeling, having watched the original through much of his career in the late 60's and 70's!

It warms the cockles so heartfelt :-) :-)

You should be happy as likely only one relegation slot for you to avoid next year.

Unless Giles has a very good contact book we have a very thin squad that was arguably eyeballs out to get out of Div 2.

Been v impressed with Pennington and his attitude since it was announced he’s leaving, even more convinced he’ll play test cricket in next year or two now.

The Bears have signed George Garton from Sussex, a good signing but looks to be mainly a white ball deal.

On the announcement I saw it said he was available for the whole season?

He’s available for the group stages initially and will return if we make finals day. There’s no mention of a red ball deal and he’s a white ball gun for hire anyway.
