After a shaky first few minutes I've been pleasantly surprised.  Think we've put a lot into that first half.  Hoping the fitness holds up!

Wes, stay on your feet. I bet Grealish was well pissed off at having to kick the ball out cos he was having a sulk. But him, El Ghazi and Trez will all be up to speed now with what is and isn't a foul.
Engels, superb.
Taylor, chat mate, chat.
We have never played like this before under Smith. Some balls on him to do it today. Bloke's a genius.

And, annoyingly, lots of the Konza song before the game.

Slightly stressful. Shouldn't have started drinking at midday. Come on Villa!!

Looks like I picked the wrong day to quit sniffing glue

Grealish and SJM have looked class acts even with the step up in level. Trezeguet looks dangerous and should have done better with the 2 chances he had.

El Ghazi very skillful but looking for FK's too much. Wesley looks a bit rattled and needs to calm down.

Defensively after a dodgy start we have been very good. Engels has won everything thats come his way. The joy Spurs are getting is in the wide areas. Need to be mindful of them exploiting that in the 2nd half.

Nice long ball from Mings for the goal.
But obviously if it was Harry McGuire it would be four times better.

It really is unbelievable how so many professional referees get away with playing to the home crowd. Scandalous.

Spurs could have scored a couple of times but they overplayed it. Happy for them to keep doing that all season long.
True, but we have had the best scoring chances.
Engels looks class.

Mm, agreed! We've done really well, if it ran for us it could have been 3-0.

I think whatever happens in the rest of this game, we don't look out of place in this league.

Nice long ball from Mings for the goal.
Did them all last season,  including goal in the play off

Wes looks shell-shocked, but otherwise Villa is settling in and making Spurs bad.

Especially our midfield is amazing. Heaton commanding his defense with authority.

Come on Lions!
