Not a good time to play Villa, especially when their Manager and best player in Eriksen look unhappy. Common sense says it’s too much too soon to expect a victory here but I look for some real positives from the game to go forward with.

Heaton

Fred 1
Fred 2
Mings
Targett

Conor

SJM
Jack

Jota
Wes
AEG

Jed, Elmo, Hause, Marv, Trez, Keinan, Kod

I don’t think that’s too bad a shout on the squad. The only thing is AEG - he had his leg strapped when leaving the team hotel in Leipzig yesterday morning and was limping. I suspect that DS will opt to put Trezeguet in his position for this game so as not to risk AEG any further.

That said, it might just be a twisted ankle and he’ll be running around again today/tomorrow. But that tackle on him was really poor.

So I reckon the following team:

Heaton

Fred
Engels
Mings
Targett

Conor

SJM
Jack

Jota
Wes
Trez

I think it’ll be a close game. It’s either going to be a draw or a small reality check (eg 2-1 Spurs). But I am excited to see how this season goes from now onwards.

Chris

I've only seen the goals from the Leipzig game, so didn't know he was crocked.

In that case, yes, Trez starts. Possibly Angela to the bench if he hasn't left by then

I expect us to lose but hope it won't be an embarrassment.

El Ghazi is fine.

If we don't loose, I for one, will be very happy. Looking forward to the new stadium.  Should be a cracking atmosphere.

We won’t lose.  The best Spurs can hope for is a draw.

A routine 3-1 away win. SJM, Jota and Mings. Trippier for them.

Come off it, that's mental, no chance whatsoever.

Trippier plays for Atlético Madrid.  3-0 then! :)

D 1-1. Well, it worked quite well at the latter end of last season. Superstitious? Me?

He's suspended so wasn't going to play anyway.

Based on what they did in Audi cup this will probably be Spurs 11:

                                   Lloris

Walkers Peters    Toby A    Vertonghen    Rose

                     Winks        Ndombele  Eriksen

                Lucas  Moura      Kane      Lamela
