At last we've got the goalkeeper we needed, top keeper, dominant, good talker, great shot stopper, very good debut.

I too was impressed with him, however i did think that his distribution wasn't perfect, he put 2 or 3 out for throw ins after aiming them towards our left wing.

It seems to be all the rage.  Sam Johnstone used to kick it straight out of play and Steer spend a good portion of his time in goal doing the same.

Yes, three kicks in a row were down the left side, with two going out for a throw I think.  I think that was more lack of options from a tiring side than any weakness in his game to be honest.  I think against Bournemouth he'll be gently rolling it towards Tyrone to do his distribution thing.

One thing that really impressed me was that he was practically in the centre circle geeing up the players after Spurs 2nd goal (I  think). I like that. A Burnley mate reckons he is a real leader and I saw that on Saturday.

On the evidence of Saturday Tom Heaton will save us points and win us points all season. The header aside, and ok, a little better distribution overall he was excellent.

Erm, are they not exactly the same thing from a keeper perspective?!

From our perspective we could be 0-0 and he keeps it that way to gain us a point. We could be winning 1-0 and keeps it that way to help us claim 3. We could also be losing, on the verge of conceding a second or a third and he keeps us in the game long enough for us to score ourselves, thus gaining a point, and dare I say I say it, even go on to win the game. In essence winning us three points.

Someone in the office today pointed out that his kicking was particularly poor. I did don’t notice it. Anybody else pick up on it?

Yes excellent saves, but some dreadful kicks which he needs to work on. It wasn’t a deciding factor or anything but it contributed to their ease in getting the ball back.
