Luiz was worse and they clearly can’t play in the same side. Keeping Douglas in to keep a tick in a box for his work permit doesn’t benefit Aston Villa.

Rubbish, Luiz was way better than Nakamba! Thankfully, DS put Conor on to save Nakamba further embarrassment.

Absolute crap. Luiz consistently gave the ball and fouls away. Nakamba is by far a better holding midfielder.

Naka has made two very big errors in the last two games. Southampton’s third goal and today Luiz saved him with goal line clearance. He needs to stop doing that.

Luiz and nakamba are both poor and probably one of the main reasons why we are shit

Sadly, they both need time to adapt to the PL, as does Wesley, and it is time that we don't have.

This is down to those who do the recruitment. It is all very well saying that they are young with potential and substantial resale value, but we need to stay in the PL.

In passing, look at the players acquired under GH/Sherwood. Many of them are now playing at the top level, but were ineffective for us.

It's a shame we have to play two defensive midfielders. Playing two you get a job shared rather than one taking full responsibility, as Nakamba showed earlier in the season. I like Luiz but he's still struggling to find his role in the team. I feel he's wasted in the DM role, his natural ball skill is very good, he just needs a place to show it. He's one for the future but right now we're a player down when we ask both Nakamba and Luiz to do the same job.

We're carrying far too many players right now, especially out wide so our form should come as no surprise.

I agree re Luiz. It’s similar to when we played Connor in the holding role last year, playing an attacking player in the holding role but just because we got away with it in the championship doesn’t mean we will at this level. You can see with Nakamba he specialises in the role and needs clear instruction that he and he only is doing that job of breaking up the play.

Both he and Doug were dreadful yesterday. our summer recruitment is looking every bit as questionable as 2015.

I've been saying this since the season started. I'd through Engels, Trez and Guilbert into the mix as well.
All poor players.  I'd look at replacing Suso with someone more capable at signing a player with immediate effect.

Villa could've got Maupay at £2m less than Wesley, yet they deemed Maupay as too expensive!

Nakamba is the worst and most limited .of Midfielders at the
club. Offers little goal threat and is one footed . Also is the 1st player who kicked out of play  by passing than anyone else

I can certainly see that in the Belgian league Nakamba , Wesley and Engels would stand out against inferior opposition. The scouting was floored in as much as the league .
Suso must have a Belgian love interest or enjoy the chocolates to be going out there and funding Club Brugge with untold riches in transfer fees.
Unbelievable

At least Douglas Luiz has some pedigree and ability.
Nakamba should never have started .
Doesn't offer a goal threat

I like the idea of a Nakamba, a ball winning midfielder - I think he's badly out of form, and the mistakes show that - however, when he leaves his central position to chase the ball down, one of the other midfielders need to have the brains to drop into the hole...
I haven't worked out the better 3 for us in the middle.... McGinn, Grealish and another?

I think DS plan is for him to be playing further up the field, pressing with energy and winning the ball back much further forward with Luiz dictating the tempo from deeper. At the moment it’s  a bit of a dogs breakfast but I like Nakamba, he’s been the best of the out field signings for me.
