I'd like to see him get another run out tomorrow. He looked useful last week and playing against decent opposition will improve him further.

I can see him scoring tomorrow, actually.
Well that would be Marvelous. (Sorry)

:)

Looked like a poor man's version of Vierra. Not a bad comparison though.  Decent performance.

I thought he was like Reo-Coker. Grafted hard to win the ball to pass it to the opposition.

And I think they should have the same song. I can’t say his name with putting do do do in front of it like the conga.

I thought he was good today. I would like to see him and Luiz in midfield together.

Yes, another good game for Nakamba.  He's never going to set the world alight but he just does the dirty work with a minimum of fuss.

I think as season goes on we must look at a central two of Luiz and Marvelous. Both physically decent and can move ball on quickly. Ahead McGinn, Grealish a little wider and one pace/touchline pace outlet in Trez/AEG. Oh and a new forward in January to alternate with Big Wes.

Think we'd look more balanced with that sort of set up, have more options on the bench to change games and hopefully that will get us over the line in May.

I actually think Hourihane and Lansbury should be playing bigger roles than they currently are too.

I can see the logic, but I would imagine that is pretty unlikely to happen. I can’t see Jack playing anywhere other than as a central midfielder and also think Smith see’s it as very much either Luiz or Marvelous for the DM role, not both.

Agree that we definitely need more/better options from the bench. Think we might look for another wide player as well as the striker you mention if possible in January.

Agree, give jack a rest he thinks he’s got too much to prove. I don’t think Deano has balls to drop him or SJM to be honest but it needs to be done or take both wingers out and put jack wide.
Marvellous, Luiz, Connor plus Lansbury need more chance than just cup games.
Engels started well but he needs sharpening up now too so he needs dropping for Burnley too, poss replace with konsa

Some prima donnas need dropping now !

Seriously?

I imagine Smith plays Jack rather than Hourihane or Lansbury because he is a significantly better player.
Engels has been excellent bar his mistake against Arsenal for the penalty. He should absolutely start against Burnley.

I’m not sure I would class  a single one of our players as prima donnas.
