May be there is a reason why Smith signed both. Let's see how he deploys them in the future games.

You just wonder what Deans conversation is with Conner, I know I can rely on you just need to get the new boys up to speed !

I think his new, improved 4 year contract may have quite an influence.  Like it or not, CH is now 3rd in the pecking order for DM, which was never his natural/favoured position in any case.

He should be one of the 3 midfielders ahead of the DM. 2 wingers is not working and we are missing his goals, assists and deadball deliveries. 4-1-3-2 at home. Depending on the opposition 4-2-3-1 away from home

I'd like to see him get another run out tomorrow. He looked useful last week and playing against decent opposition will improve him further.

I can see him scoring tomorrow, actually.

Does anyone know if he has goals in his game ? Heard a stat yesterday that Arsenal have conceded more shots than anyone else, especially shots from distance. May be worth playing Connor or Luiz.

He has three goals in 150 games. It's fair to say that he's less than prolific.

I might be tempted to try Hot Lips at left back. Extra threat from set pieces, then. Maybe try him in a home game rather than away to Arsenal, though.

He recently played for Ireland at left back, apparently he will never play there again, according Mick McCarthy

No he just meant that Conor wanted game time and McCarthy wanted to experiment with kids so he put him at Left Back to give him a game.
