I think Luiz was the main positive from yesterday. Onana next to Luiz should really be enough to get us top 5 if Onana is fit every week between now and May..

Oh well.

I thought he played very well, as did all of the returning Trio - Bailey and Tammy both would have scored on a different day - but I think our business has been very sensible.

Thought he was great. Won a few balls high up, kept possession neatly and even found the odd bit of space. Him and Onana will pair up wonderfully.

Just before kick off you could see how much he loved being back at VP in claret and blue. Pity we didn’t get the result to mark his return but that wasn’t down to the effort he put in.

Was 'his' song the same one he used to have? I thought not.

Great to see him back and in command. The way he manipulates the football is top-class. Only Youri and Bouba compare in that regard in our current squad.

Was worried about his fitness but getting 100 minutes into his legs at high intensity will hopefully stand him in good stead.

Was very good in first half but he had little to do in second half in that role. Pity as would have liked to have seen him released further forward. He was good for us in the past breaking in the box getting on the end of things.

Thiago man marked him all second half.  A smart tactic from Andrews, because it meant Konsa and Pau ended up being the sole creators on the edge of their box.

Wasn't great but he's basically an emergency loan and hasn't played much in 18 months. Fair play to him for putting a shift in.

Looked v leggy this eve, particularly second half.

Prob needs to be rotated with Barkley over the next period, until they're both up to speed.

Thought he was decent in the first half and had very little support trying to get the ball forward. He dropped off in the second half, unsurprisingly, because after the last 18 months he’s clearly not used to regular starts. I think he’ll get up to speed with more games.

Was whacked when he went off - he looked ok in the first half.  Disapointed with Onana - felt like this period was this opportunity to really cement him self as one of our key players but looks a little lost.

With Douggie, you could see he was trying to do the right thing. Couple of brilliant passes in the first half but as he tired in second half, he made one incredibly stupid decision and his confidence dropped attempting trickier passes. 3rd game in 10 or 11 days so it's understandable. Rotating with Barkley for next while is the smart play but never together.

He played well, I just wish we could see him further forward, but needs must at the moment I guess. He’s a sound player where he’s playing, but in the eight role he becomes an excellent player.

I said the same during the game. Play him a little further forward and we might not miss Tieliemans as much.
