Does anyone have a screen grab of Barkley correcting Villans about his contract? Pretty impressed he logs onto TBAR or VillaTalk, I guess we need to be more demanding in our way if we want him to sign-up to H&V.

If he didn't weigh in on whether fascism has to be totalitarian or can be merely authoritarian, he probably never will.

He has to be demanding of himself if he wants to sign up to H&V.  At the bare minimum he should at least be able to add a few non-duplicate entries to The Chain thread.

There's only so many Phil Collins tracks you can link whilst having your favourite meal of steak and chips.

Haven’t been Douglas Luiz’s biggest fan but welcome him back as he should be highly motivated to play well enough to either want to stay with us or to put himself in the shop window as Juve done seem to want him.  We also need him to cover the shortfall. Also glad to see Ross Barkley back in training from Friday, another timely boost.

Barkley and Doug effectively auditioning for a contract this summer too.  They should be motivated.

Not Barkley. He’ll be on to you.

Is anyone worried about his physical condition ? Suggestions from Forest fans that he can't run or last a whole game. Dyche has given-up on him pretty quickly even allowing for his preference for sawdust physicality over footballing finesse.

He looks like he's been enjoying a fair bit of churrasco from the photos I've seen in a Forest shirt. He'll soon lose it after a week or two at Bodymoor Heath.

The book mentioned that the mental strain of the system and briefings became a bit of an issue.

Well he's had a nice little break from that with Dyche.

He and Barkley can share the role for a couple of weeks until both have been sharpened to within an inch of their life.

I was against getting him back because he hasn't shown anything since he left us. However with the current crisis, the fact he knows most of our players, manager and systems then welcome back, be good and don't get injured.

I have to admit this is how I felt. But yes, the crisis is bad and hopefully Doug will be glad to be home and under Unai's leadership and will show this in his performances. If he can't get motivated given the opportunity he has now, he never will.

Helps us to become a more handsome team again. Just need a loan deal for Asencio now.

The concern is what happened to make his form drop off so severely before he left us, which appears not to have returned.
Having seen both versions of him, one the imperious commanding midfielder and the other flat forlorn almost disinterested.
I just hope we can get him back to somewhere near his best.

There are two possible answers to that one.

1: He, along with others were knackered AND Kamara got injured. Yes, we don't have Kamara again next to him but Bogarde and Onana means he isn't required to be the pure DM like in that second half. As for the other teams he was signed by managers who weren't Emery but also ones who were replaced early on so he suddenly wasn't in the new managers plans.

2: He started dating Alisha again in the December 2023.

I'd be knackered all the time if I was dating her, too  8)

That's my worry, he works incredibly hard to get back in shape and breaks down. Pre season is really the time for that. Happened Barkley, disrupted pre season and then by the time he was up to speed he broke down.

Most former players will tell you that it's the long distance runs that knacker you rather than the short sprints.

It would be extremely difficult to go long distance with her, one would imagine.

I'd manage it, I just don't get what people find so attractive about her. She looks plastic.
