AVFC have agreed a deal to sell Douglas Luiz to Juventus for £42m.

In a separate transaction, Samuel Iling-Junior and Enzo Barrenechea are set to move to Villa for £18m.

@David_Ornstein

Smart by Juve as it any sell on clause is usually on the profit, so 10% on players valued at ~9m each gives quite a lot of potential future income.
…and in a way I hope they make loads as it will the player has been a success.

I prefer this deal than £60m from an English club. And i'm classing the incoming players as part of it also being lower than market value due to the Luiz deal.

£42 million is an absolute steal (unless there is a release clause we don't know about). Sounds like they might have undervalued the players coming the other way so not all bad.

Rogers wasn't struggling to get into the side at the time we bought him, it was earlier in the season.

True but a few weeks before we signed him he started to show some potential but he was dropped in October and only came back in December. This probably sums up his short stay at Boro:

'In the first 21 game weeks of the Championship, he got 1 goal and 1 assist. But from early December onwards he really stepped up and improved his game, and come mid-to-late December his numbers reflected that, as he contributed a goal and 4 assists in 7 games before getting sold'.

I don't think it's too bad in todays PSR shitty climate. Plus Arsenal were offering twigs for him 18 months ago.

It would be funny if McKennie keeps him out the team.

Rumours of interest in McKennie from the MSL. I really think we dodged a bullet/bucket of KFC with Ranch Sauce.

Seems that way, £42m puts Iling-Junior and Enzo at the same value as Tim. Or the two of them together as potentially worth less than Kellyman.

Did Luiz have one year left on his deal or two?

Contract length was never announced, just that it was an extension.

Expires 2026 according to Transfermarkt. Not sure if accurate.

They're guesstimating. For some reason the club have never stated the length.

If PSR wasn't a thing, this would be shit. As it is, we seem to have made a good fist of the situation.
