He had a very lucrative contract on his lap for the last 5 months and hasn’t signed it. After season ended he made it clear he wouldn’t be either.
Therefore club has acted to get value

Thanks for this.

Means I can say thanks for the service to Dougie, wish him all the best and not get wound up about it.

Neom which I beleive is their real priority.

Who?

Its like the Milton Keynes of Saudi

Concrete cows!

There was a Burroughs training centre which I was forced to go to in my salad days as a young systems programmer. It was ghastly. Rubber flooring and looked like the deck of Star Trek enterprise.

Fennel featured prominently on the menu. Fucking fennel!!

The horror!

Thanks for this Vinnie, it all makes more sense now from Villa’s point of view.

The NX-01 sets are my favourite, it actually feels like a spaceship, rather than a luxury spa.

Confirms my theory he was tapped up around Christmas/New Year. Certainly explains a lot.

Interesting Luiz could still have a sell-on clause - hadn’t really considered that - which explains favoring a deal loaded with players versus a big fee.

As I said before, it won't make the slightest bit of difference.

I think we should start a bidding war.

I’m just glad he’s not going to another PL club.  That would wind me up.

I always felt it was more than just the cash for PSR. He was called out previously for going to crap with "he's mentally checked out" style comments on social media after previous transfer talk. Still, seems 3rd time's the charm for him.

That makes sense in terms of why we're selling him (along with his relative lack of physicality).

I'm still puzzled as to why he wants to go from the Premier League to Juve in Serie A.

Maybe, if it was clear for a while that he wanted to go, we were working on finding a deal that worked best for us, and Juve was it? I don't think Arsenal were coming in for him, and where else would he go in the Prem?

Certainly explains the reason why he was trying to get himself sent off each game towards the end of the season.

Fair enough re Vinnie’s post. No hard feelings towards Dougie though. We move on.

BBC gossip have a story from Spain saying his agent has been in touch with Deco at Barca as he assesses his options this summer.

Be interesting to see if he's misjudged things a bit in refusing to sign a new contract.

The suggestion being that Doug didn’t sign a new deal as his agent was trying to get him a move to Barcelona that didn’t pan out. He ends up at Juventus instead.
