Disappointed he’s going but if it was out of him Martinez, Watkins or JJ it’s probably for the best especially if it’s true Man City get 20% of any sell on. It’s pretty big boots to fill though as he’s been largely very good this season. I’m also glad he’s not going to an another prem team.

I just don’t see the Gallagher one, I think he’ll stay.

I'm wondering if we'll bother with McKennie coming in

Might free us up to go big elsewhere.

Let's see where we are at the end of the TF window.

But in isolation, this looks a poor deal.

At his best, DL plays with a swagger and poise few can equal.

Still think we are light in midfield. McKinnie for me is more like Kamara. We need a more progressive midfielder that plays and attacks through the middle.

might not be his choice. Chelsea need to shift players or they will have a squad of about 50 come August.

With a year left on his (currently rubbish) contract, if he decides he's going to have his pick of clubs next summer instead of Spurs or us this summer, it will be his choice.

With Kamara behind him and McGinn buzzing around, that Douglas Luiz was a fucking Rolls Royce.

Rest of the lads are going to have to practice their penalties over the summer.

Tielemans I'd assume?

McGinn said that he was Villa's second choice after scoring one for Scotland a few months ago.

Possibly. My point being Chelsea will do all they can not to be left in that position by the player. They know he represents a quick 40-50m and easy FPP relief.

I think Weston himself would dispute how you see him.

One of my favourite players since promotion. I think he is massively under appreciated for his passing, skills, goals, and set pieces.

The system is broken if you can make top 4 and still have to sell a key player.

Over to Monchi now I guess

The system isn’t broken…it’s doing exactly what it was set up to do…protect the so callled big 6 monopoly

I wonder if he was told he was going a few months ago and that's what led to the fall off in play? I'm sure I saw before that Monchi or Emery let's players know if they're surplus to requirements a while before the end of the season so they have time to sort something new out. Maybe that was someone else, but Juve feels like a strange deal to have come out of nowhere.

I thought they did this at the end of the season, but before the players are off duty.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a ‘sign the new contract or we must sell you’ situation*. If Doug had no intention of signing it anyway then his agent would already know interested clubs.

* I’d prefer this situation than him leaving on a free. I think.

Fairly relaxed about this . We get players and money and ease the FFP issue. Emery is no fool so overall I'm chilled .

I hate it too, but it really is the lesser of two evils. Those two literal evils being Man City and Newcastle being twenty points clear at the top of the league like Celtic and Rangers til their horrible owners get bored

Yeah, those comments from him were quite telling, he doesn't want be a DM. I don't think Gallagher will happen if we get McKennie.

He’s specifically said he’s not a defensive midfielder hasn’t he?
