Mail reckons tubs McKennie was Juves best player last season? I don't remember him at Leeds, other than he was unpopular for not playing well. So was Yuri mind when Leicester took the plunge.

There was an article stating how well he has played at Juve on here a week or so ago. It chilled me out on the deal.

He was more unpopular for not even trying.

McKennie is more of a defensive midfielder. He doesn't play progressively, but is better at tackling and playing simple and effective passes. My guess is that McKennie will cover Kamara and at times allow us to play with two defensively minded '6's.

Sounds a bit like Nakamba.

Juve to Leeds. That's some comedown.i guess that he started playing well again suggests he wasn't too keen to be in Leeds to begin with.

There's more than one side to a story

Quote
I went there because of Jesse Marsch. And then two weeks after I got there he was sacked," McKennie said on the "American Dream" podcast. "I had four different managers in six months. One of my coaches, honestly I don't think he even knew who I was. If a player is coming in on loan, you should know your squad. He put me outside the box for corner kicks. And in my head I'm like, 'I've scored like 85% of my goals in my career off set pieces and crosses.'"

The 25-year-old admitted he hated his position, wanting to venture forward more than his coaches would allow. He noticed when Leeds fans became "very much against" him as he struggled to adjust to added defensive responsibilities.

"Tyler [Adams] got injured, so it forced me to play the six role," he said. "I don't see myself as a six, because I like to attack and defend and if you're telling me like, 'Just stay here, don't go in the box,' I'm not the best with that because I need to be free to exert my energy. So I think it just didn't pan out the way I thought.

Why were Juve so keen to get rid of him twice?

Sounds like competition with McGinn or to play McGinn and him. Along with JJ and Rogers, for the "fucking hell, this lot are a bit physical" side of things.

Well, I guess that debunks my rationale for him covering Kamara then!

So he's not the DM we need then. I can't see us going for Gallagher then if this goes though.

It's probably hard for any player to shine in a 4 month loan a shit side in another country that has 4 different managers in that spell.
