Judging him over the course of the season he's been brilliant!
Only downfall is his fouling.
He must be careful tonight as think he can lose discipline and he'll be up against McAllister where there is past rivally.
But Luiz has the most goals by any midfielder in the league at home this season.
9 goals in 17 home matches.

More than Rice, Rodri or McAllister
Can he make it 10 today?

Hands down winner of tweet of the year.

If I could work out how to share it on my work laptop I would - but ask your kids to find it

As was known all along, Rio Ferdinand is a scrotum.

What's the context for that?

After the match that Yanited won 2-1, Rio posted a pic of Dougie celebrating his goal.

She has sucked his skill right out of him.

Drained him I think is the term you're looking for. Dougie has the summer to decide if he wants to be a Rolls Royce or a MG Metro. He's gone from my favourite player in 2023 to one I wouldn't be too arsed to pass on to another club for a small fortune.

We can talk about his position and find thousands of excuses to defend him but he needs to raise his game WHEREVER he is playing. Does he have the capacity? Of course he does! He should be a leader out there not a passenger as he has been for most of 2024.

More teething pains? I hope so as I trust Unai to sort it. That's what he's paid for. Dougie has to do his bit too. He may be sulking about not really breaking into the Brazil team but it's up to him to make his case.

Another club may make him richer but it won't solve his problem. I blame that ball with the outside of his foot. Well that and too much shagging, obviously.

The way he's been playing he won't get a game  .

Good. He's knackered.

Getting picked is great for him. Him not getting games would be great for us.

So cheers for finding the positive for Villa in this situation.

I would love it if we could go back to the days where Villa players were not picked as a matter of principle

Indeed, those were the days when leaders of the Labour Party had principles as well.

2023 Dougie was world class.  He played a lot of football - and i think also adjusting to the expectations of being a leader.

I think hell get there - I dont want any of our players to go - but he is probably our only 70m+ player that is replaceable for less.

He needs a good DM next to him and it would be good if we were less dependent on him.
