I honestly can't believe people want to drop Douglas Luiz for Tim Iroegbunam. Like seriously. At a make or break point of the season.

It’s a reaction to the last few games, but I agree, no way I’d be doing that.

Its more taking him out the firing line for me as he has been really poor recently. Id save him for a start in greece hw will have a point to prove

It would look like a slap in the face for giving away a pen and missing a pen. He’s had an iffy few games, but has been largely brilliant this season and is on a different level to Tim.

We've won one game of the last six where he's played, and that was the home game against Lille when we were shit and lucky to get away with it It's obviously not all his fault, although he's had a major detrimental effect on the last two games. But we managed OK in his absence and actually turned in a very good display without him against Arsenal. He's been poor for weeks, and it shows no sign of stopping.

But when players play poorly they get dropped  mate. Salah being a prime example. Emery has to do whats right for the team not one player. Its dougies job to get himself back in the team if he hits a poor run of form

More likely people are asking for Tim to play ahead of one of the attackers so we have a better shape in midfield and can get the best out of Luiz/SJM.  That’s mote logical to me, I’d probably rest Diaby.

I was just going to say similar. Rather than drop Luiz, play him and Tim with McGinn and Rogers but yes, it would be dropping one of the wingers.

Hopefully Tielemans is fit enough to play, so at least Unai has got some sort of choice.

I just asked my pet unicorn and he said Tielemans definitely will be fit and definitely won't be out until September with some mystery ailment.

He has been off it I agree.  And the way we played at Arsenal was proof we can brilliant without him.  But I wouldn’t be dropping him for Tim.

His class will overcome the form issue. I hope starting from today!

He’s been largely playing the Kamara role since the injury. He’s not suited to the role really, not physical enough and has been proven since Emery came in, he’s far better than any of our other midfielders in that attacking midfielder role. We did play well without him against Arsenal and was he missing for Bournemouth as well? But he’s been integral to nearly everything good we’ve done this season. Maybe bringing Tim in and pushing Doug further forward might be an answer, although im not sure ive seen anything in Tims cameo’s yet, to suggest he’s ready to step into such an important game.

Yep, agree.  If we could have Tielemans back for the game today it'd be massive, with him and SJM sitting and Luiz hitting those defence splitting through balls to Watkins.
