There bloke hand balled twice on two different phases of play and he was deemed to not do it on purpose. I have no idea how it’s supposed to be refereed anymore but more worryingly I really don’t think anyone does.

The handball rule isn't fit for purpose, like you say he was only a foot away and gained no advantage from it - it would have just hit him in the head.  Compared to the ones that we didn't get against Sheffield utd its stupid

The trouble is most rules are subjective so will always be to the whim of how the ref saw it at the time. But when they have tried to make it definitive, (attacker handball in build up to a goal), then you can get even worse decisions.

At times he came so deep last night that he was in line with the back four…and that’s when we were in possession passing out from the back. There’s no way one of our 2 central midfielders should be dropping so deep to effectively become a 3rd CB…and I’d say that’s part of the insecurity placed on the players of having Olsen and Lenglet in the team.

I noticed that too, I know he’s not adverse to doing that but it seemed more prominent last night. I don’t think it helped not having Torres there either as he carries the ball and can pick a pass.

Is that why Emery was giving him a mouthful at one point

Should be dropped but injuries aren't allowing it, so he starts tomorrow surely .

We wouldn’t be 4th without him. It’s rough that he’s going through a poor patch, but he’s been brilliant for the majority of the season. He’ll find his form, just hope it starts tomorrow. But he deserves plenty of latitude- also sometimes dropping a player isn’t actually the best answer, depends on the situation and the player.

Maybe play Irogbunam and McGinn in the deeper roles and push Luiz further up again where he seems to flourish better .

I'll go all Footy now, his other half scored against Brighton so Dougie will too. #Insight 8)

Last time I went to this fixture Luiz played a different level cross field pass / assist for Jack to control and strike a wonderful goal in front of us all and earn a great point as it turned out . That was a good day out .

I honestly can't believe people want to drop Douglas Luiz for Tim Iroegbunam. Like seriously. At a make or break point of the season.

That was an unbelievable goal. We were absolutely dreadful that play aside, Drinky stinking out our midfield.
