I doubt at this stage of his career he'd want to take a step down and join Arsenal.

Hard to really state if we missed him as we might have scored more if we were playing. However sometimes he can slow the game down too much, but I think the bigger difference was McGinn was starting further back in midfield unlike the last couple of matches so we had his energy for the defensive parts of the game. I think if we had the Doug / Luiz partnership in the previous two matches, then we could well be discussing could we snipe third spot after the matches this weekend.

The biggest problem to me has been asking Tielemans to fill in out wide for some reason. He simply isn't athletic enough to cover endless ground.

Today he played the Luiz role to perfection so there is life after Doug although you'd like to think we can keep both with CL on offer and just rotate more rather than Doug starting every single week as his performances have tailed off in last six weeks.

Footballer Insider pedalling their own brand of Doug to Arsenal propaganda again, see bbc footie pages. I know the words football and insider are poison to the eyes.

I think Arse priority will be-a centre forward and I think they will utilise a lot of their resources to get one.
They are more likely to go for Watkins than Luiz although they probably need both.

I have no idea how much they can spend though.

Either of those two are in the £100m bracket. Plus agents fees, sign on and wages makes it another £100,. Not cheap

According to BBC Gossip, "Arsenal will make English striker Eddie Nketiah, 24, available for transfer this summer but will ask for £40m", so what price, Watkins or Dougie?

That would be about as appealing as swapping Emery for Arteta.

£40m for Nketiah?  JFC.  The only clubs able to waste that sort of money are going to want significantly better than that.  In the past they could have relied on someone Everton or maybe Newcastle throwing the money away, but it's harder for clubs to be complete morons with signings like that nowadays.

There's not a cats chance in hell that anyone is spending forty million pounds on nketiah.
