As much as he’s improved us I feel he will get his move in the summer if we get £60 million +. That would be good enough to get two decent replacements.

In todays market 60 million would be a pathetic deal for a player of his quality

It would but he may have a release-clause. When he signed his last contract he had lots of leverage with Arsenal trying to buy him twice on deadline day August 2022.

Thought he was really poor yesterday and guilty of slowing the tempo down too much. Plus the silly fouls he concedes.

There was one point when the crowd got really restless, and Luiz was suggesting we all calm down. It seemed to work because we equalised very shortly after.

Based on the release clause in Joe’s contract I’d be very surprised if the owners agreed to put it that low.

I do worry if we miss out on CL if arsenal or another CL club come in and bid 100m we can't really stop him in that scenario and i would understand if he left in that situation

Arsenal may feel that they don't actually need him now, who knows?

I could be wrong but I don't think there will be many £100m purchases in the current climate.  I think the top-end prices will have to come down with the FFP situation.

But if we do miss out on CL, then yes there will be some painful choices.  I would hope Doug won't be part of that but with two years left on his contract he could well come into the conversation.

I'd agree on both counts. We may have to sacrifice one 'Star' name to keep ahead of the money curve.

Obvious replacement Jorginho, 32.

They've got Rice, Partey, Odegaard, Havertz, Smith Rowe, Vieira and even Trossard who plays midfield occasionally. I'm not sure they're going to be wanting to spend a huge amount on a midfielder like our Doug, but I could be wrong.

Aye, but I could see Smith Rowe being sold (Fulham or somewhere like that), and Partey.  Maybe more. They’re more likely to want to buy Watkins I reckon.

Barcelona looking at Doug. They will pay us across 3 decades in pennies as they find them beneath the settee.

They also have Jorginho  .
