I mentioned this in the transfer thread a few days ago, but there's always the possibility it's Luiz's agents trying to get him a bigger deal with us. There was talk a while ago about us opening negotiations with him about a new deal after Christmas.
There was stories about Watkins talking to Arsenal just before he signed his new contract last month.

I have no doubt there are plenty of club who covet Dougie, and Arsenal might be one of them. Some of them might even approach us or make a bid - but that is still a million miles away from him actually leaving.  If were mid-table I'd be a "bit" worried, but we're not. We have upward momentum, he's playing well, in a system that seems to suit him, he's scoring goals, and he's back in the Brazil squad - WHY would he want to leave for a club that has the same chance of silverwear this season as we do?

Dougie - as with a few other of our better players with their peak years still ahead of them - might well have their heads turned at some point in the future if it feels like we've stopped improving.  But we're not there yet.  I really don't see us selling ANYONE we don't want to sell in January.  Unless it's really crazy money and Unai/Monchi believe they can weave some magic with the proceeds.
