I love watching Dougie play. It's weird. A couple of years ago he'd have those games where he'd swagger around without that much productivity, as if he thought he was way better than he was. Turns out he was absolutely right about being a baller, he's just gone up a few levels thanks to Unai, and also looking more athletic. A bit of added maturity has helped too, with age.

This...

I think he is the player most improved by Emery being at the club.

He has become a wonderful, & arguably world class, central midfielder...

I wasn't that keen while he was still a Man City player, nor for a bit after he became ours. I love being wrong about football. Dougie's so consistently excellent.

I think I went the other way, I saw some highlights of him before he signed and convinced myself we were getting a guy who'd be one of the best in the world. It's taken a while but it's fantastic to see him now delivering on the immense amount of talent he has. As others have said I think he's right up there as one of the top players int he league right now and there isn't a central midfielder I'd take over him.

He's a joy to watch but it needs Emery to get the midfield selection correct. We've been overrun a few times this season in midfield and Dougie as been good rather than great. Today he was back to being majestic. Love him!

£125m regardless whether it’s Chelsea or not.

Quite. The market has been set by players not even as good as him.

He looks every inch, a Brazillian midfieder.

Who bizarrely still can't get into their squad.

Caicedo for £115m puts Dougie in the 150m bracket.

Madness, but he wouldn't get in the England one also.

A few weeks ago I was talking about him to a couple of Man Utd fans and said he'd be worth £80m minimum and that price will only go up and they both laughed. I know I wouldn't swap him for any of their midfielders.

I honestly think he's our best kept secret. Others don't seem to have cottoned on to just how good he is.

Only because Southgate doesn't like us for some odd reason.

England aren't stocked with great central midfielders beyond Rice (and Bellingham if he wants to waste him by playing him there).  Luiz is clearly better than Phillips and Gallagher.

The player he has become, particularly under Emery, just shows what a top level coach can do.

Playing with better players also helps. Didn't help when he first arrived that his defensive partners were either Nakamba (shit) or McGinn (great, but a bit shit in a defensive two).

He's the first player I would pick every time and he was outstanding again today.

One problem is that he's now had 4 yellow cards (as has Digne), although today's yellow was so soft. Gilmour went down after a few minutes holding his head and the ref thought it was worth a booking.

Thereafter, there was no consistency in the evaluation of fouls let alone what warranted a card or not.
