What I found strange is that there was only one Var clip, which was from distance

The game was a shit show but Ings had missed a great chance just before the red card. Was never a penalty either.

A bit of mixed emotions for that

Why? Gerrard would have gone after that performance if we’d lost 1-0, Luiz’s Red had little bearing on action man hairs sacking.
Yes probably, just glad he has gone, and glad luiz is available

When Oliver went to the monitor it appeared not to be working, we never saw him view the clip pitch side, it looked like he got a message in his headset?

Aston Villa@AVFCOfficial

Douglas Luiz has seen a claim of wrongful dismissal upheld by an Independent Regulatory Commission. He will not serve a suspension and is available for #AVLBRE at Villa Park on Sunday.

Honestly, I know it got lost in the brouhaha around Gerrard but the decisions for the penalty and especially this red were utterly disgraceful. The idea that you VAR a red card into being then, effectively, VAR it out of being, I'm sorry, it's a complete farce.

He nodded his head which isn’t a headbut. The other guy charged at him and Luiz gets sent off?

I’m shocked at that.

Yeah that's bollocks. Is this the first VAR assisted decision to be later over turned?

Maybe VAR wanted Gerrard out.

Apparently his claim of wrongful dismissal is upheld. Well there you go, if the Gods decide your time is up, your time is up

I thought that. The abject performance combined with anything that could go wrong, going wrong, was the final confirmation to all that he had to go. Anyway good news that it's rescinded and Dougie's available, we could do with a bit of a lift before Sunday.

And nobody will question this or Oliver and his competence at this level.

Both refs involved should be suspended. You need to be certain for a red card, not just make it up.
