If he is staying, I hope this isn稚 a sign that the board are still listening to Gerrard

John Percy saying that barring any major u-turn, Luiz is staying with us.

I can't work this out. Why not just take the money? If keeping him saves us 」25 million that ti me is an admission we're I'm a relegation battle. If we were that confident the squad we'd be selling

I知 not sure I follow you?

Basically,

Selling him would be bad, a sign we're shit
Keeping him is bad, a sign we're shit

He is going to leave for free so we're saying that keeping him essential. If we were confident in what we would have after he's gone, we would selling surely? I'm not on a wind up or "trolling" I'm being serious that are we thr type of club to turn down 」25 million. Put it another way, how would we feel if we brought him for 」25 Mill on a 1 year deal

Possibly a sign that Gerrard is on his way out and any new manager would persuade him to re-sign?

If i was him, having played that Arsenal side last night, I would absolutely be off.

We are 19th in the league and have just been effortlessly danced around by Arsenal. He's had 3 years of that sort of shit rubbish here. Of course he'll want to go.

Big shout to keep him - if we finish 16th and he goes on a free seems a bit of a waste

I think it's a mistake to keep him. I like him as a player but he's going to be thoroughly fucked off with the club for a while, and so won't play anyway.

I don't think any of that will happen. He knows he can leave on a free soon if he chooses so he'll have a choice of clubs come next summer, unless he decides to stay if course.

All depends on him, if he's going to sulk then we should probably have sold him as he won't be beneficial to us. If he's professional and just cracks on then it's better he stays. A few extra points because we still have him should make up most of that 」25m in prize money for being a few places higher.

So just so we're clear, you're simultaneously complaining that the owners aren't investing enough and that they're also mad for not selling a fringe player when they could get 」25m for him?

At this stage of the window we have to keep him. Hopefully he値l play out of his skin now for a great move in the summer.
