Just heard on Radio WM (I know!) that we've turned down Arsenal's offer.

Radio WM has gone to pot

Saw that last night and joked that he was probably asking for a move 😂

I kind of see both sides of the argument here. We could do with him staying but that 26m or whatever it is could be used in January if we can't spent it now.

£26 million for a player who wants to go - take the money now or he will go for free at the end of the season

If he stayed how many games will he start??? Not many

He’s a good player better than many we have got, will probably improve but he isn’t going to sign a new contract so 26m is about right. We get a 10m profit on original cost.

We have to give shitty 20% still a profit though on a fairly mediocre performer with a year left. I think we should take it.

I'm swaying towards don't take it. Earlier in the window, maybe, but not now.

Yep, unless we have someone lined up to rush through in the next few hours as a replacement selling him would be reckless.

If we hadn't loaned out Tim and AJ and Sanson was part of the squad I'd be less upset, even though I think Luiz is a far better player than he gets credit for by many.

Very optimistically I think there is a bit of domino effect here. Chelsea are trying to sign a midfielder, Arsenal are trying to get Luiz. I reckon we will have a deal for Gallagher by the end of the window if Chelsea get their man.

I think Kamara is the replacement for Luiz and Dendonkar the upgrade on Nakamba.
Kamara and Dendonkar with one of Ramsey and McGinn might make a decent blend.

Well yes, Gallagher would be the upgrade on McGinn/Ramsey so I hope you’re right but only as a permanent. I’d sooner play our players if it’s a loan.

I read somewhere that the owners have a net spend of about £250 million on transfers since they arrived.

Do you really expect Villa to be up there with the biggest spenders in Europe, every year?
How is that sustainable?

You may want to give Championship Manager a rest.

Indeed. It's far too easy to slag others off when it's not your own money your spending.
