Can’t blame him for wanting to go. He’s been here for a while now and we’re going backwards.

Theres a better player in there than we have seen. If he has the right attitude
And right manager/coach.

And for all of the "our midfield is shit and we need to buy loads of better players", the talk has been of Luiz going to one of Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Roma or Juventus.

That rather suggests that the problem is us rather than him.

Yep. There is a reason players leave Villa and thrive - they are played in the position they are suited for. Luiz will thrive once he leaves.

Or he has the same agent as Leandro Bacuna. No way he is anything more than cover for any of those teams.

I’m not arsed. He’s alright, but we have lots of tippy tappy shortarses and not enough big fuckers in midfield. It’s a team game and you need a balance of strengths, not a squad of clones. I wish him well if he goes as he’s mainly put the effort in and done fine for a player that was a rookie when he first signed 3 years ago.

What has Bacuna got to do with it?

We've got these "Serious owners" who "mean business" so why are we in a position where Joe, Carney and now appears to be Dougie have/want to leave. Add to that ESR turning us down last year, Ward Prowse and Sarr hardly banging the door down to join.

Because we talk like a big club but don't act like one.it's all absolute crap

We've won sod all for years and never look like winning anything again in the near future. We finished 14th and had one new player on the pitch last match.

We're a joke

That attempt to buy Smith-Rowe was fucking laughable. As if he was going to leave Arsenal to come here.

I wonder hhow much time we've wasted chasing unachievable transfer targets

Got linked with clubs much higher up the chain than he was likely to play for. Reo Coker was another.

What has Bacuna got to do with it?

I reckon Luiz is the kind of player who could easily be a regular in World Cup and Champions League winning sides, but helping to free up the star performers rather than shining himself. A team on the front foot will find a real use for him, but he doesn't suit the kind of sides that don't enjoy a lot of controlled possession. It's not that he isn't good enough for top sides, it's that he's always seemed the wrong type of player for us. I'm sure he'd be the unsung hero of a top team, and possibly head their appearance charts.

I would describe the window as boring. Underwhelming and insufficient but not boring. First time in a whole were busy on deadline day.
