Are we not taking a riskettong him get down to the last 18 months of his contract
Agree. I think a lot of clubs would be sniffing around, all over Europe. He is ace and is only going to get better.

I like him and would certainly be looking to extend his contract.  People forget how young he is.

Isn't the rumour he wants out?

You'd hope that would change if he's playing and we're doing ok.

It’d be a big blow if he left.

It might not be our choice.

It kind of is. We could have moved him on and got some funds. Thar would still be not letting him get to the last 18 months.

We can only do things he agrees with. If he wants to wait and see, there's zero we can do about it.

Very true but I don't think that's a likely the scenario. He either wants out in which case he would have moved if we started negotiating his sake or he'd take the payrise of a new contract. I mean, release clauses have become all the range recently he could insert one of them.

There's also the point that if it is him stalling, why ate club persisting with a player that potentially doesn't want to be there over others and youth players coming through ie chuck. Think it's most likely the club haven't opened talks with him.

So we get gazillionaire owners and we can't keep our best players? You know, this few months has been a real kick in the nuts

I mean Roma is beautiful but they're another unstable club and they may not even match his wages here. If Jose gets the chance to whisper sweet nothings to him in Portugese though, that might be all it takes.

His marking today nearly cost us twice.  I thought he was guilty for both but waited for the BBC to confirm in highlights.  First half the new guy with too many names missed by a mile but look at Dougie watching the ball and drifting 5/6 yards away from him.  Then in the second half he leaves Castagne as Young is following his man into the box and the ball eventually goes out wide and there is a heart in mouth moment... poor.
