Yeah, great 2nd half, him and Nakamba turned us around really well.

Luiz was a monster tonight. He was everywhere, absolutely brilliant.

Thought he was undercooked at the weekend, certainly a different animal tonight, benefitted from being able to get forward more.  Spent more time over the halfway line than in the rest of the year to date.

He was excellent. Good to see him a bit further forward, his talents are a bit wasted as a holding midfielder.

It's good to have a narky Portuguese speaker in the team cos he was quite clearly needling their Portuguese and Brazilians. And because english refs are unlikely to speak the language, all good!

Taking into account who the opposition were that’s his best performance I’ve seen from him yet. More of that please Dougie.

Yes, I'd agree with that. Maybe Nakamba's progress as a holding MF is allowing our other midfielders to play in their natural positions. Shame the African Cup will disrupt this progress.

Without starting off a tedious debate he’s definitely a better 8 than a 6, he has so much more to his game when he’s in that middle of the pitch position. Good to see him effectively mark Cancelo out the game as well, that space he covered is the area Cancelo gets most of his joy and every time he tried to get to it there was Douggie. He left one on Cancelo at the end of the first half as well just as a reminder. Top performance.

Was Pep having second thoughts on the touchline? Don't mean to pry, it's probably best discussed between him and his life-coach.

Those quirky Brazilians do like the blonde hair look dont they - must be their "thing"

Luiz
Wesley
Jollinton
Richarleson

Our beautifully coiffered one was very good last night - i agree he was really getting into a few of their lot. Maybe trying to show Pep what he missed out on. Lets hope he maintains it for Saturday and he outsmarts Indidy

I thought Luiz and Marv starting together which hasn’t happened that often looked good
But I’ve always liked Luiz and thought he is a class player with plenty more improvement to come for me

What I do like about him is when you play the proper big teams full of internationals is when he proves it
Too many players can put in good performances against mediocre teams but when you’re up against it like last night his quality shines through

Injuries aside. Douglas is looking a little quicker and more athletic than when he first joined. He covers the pitch quicker. Hopefully he stays fit. He's got a touch of class, but keeping focused and not resting on his laurels is key. His form dropped last season without his place ever seeming threatened. And as others have said. Definitely better as an 8 than a 6.
