Is there VAR in these games? Surely if there was, they’d have looked at it and changed the decision.

They did , they changed it from yellow to red 😂

The Olympics is a corrupt shitshow, I certainly begrudge our well paid player being utilised for their corporate rip off.

I take it you'd like us to avoid European qualification?

No, that's for our benefit and he works for us.

All sporting organisations are corrupt, but the Olympics is still brilliant and, if I was him, I'd be wanting to win an Olympic gold medal. Given that he'll be, comfortably, over age next time, this is probably his only chance.

I love the Olympics. Qatari World Cup says hello over corruption.

He did rather well in the QF v Egypt and I thought his free kick would just creep in! Sadly it didn’t, but at least they won and he’s getting some decent games leading into next season.  I appreciate that the previous remark is a very Villa-centric view of the Olympics, but hey; this is Doug’s thread on H&V!

Hope he gets a few weeks off once he's done at the Olympics; otherwise he'll be running on fumes by Xmas.

Love the Olympics as well, but still think it should only include sports where winning an Olympic gold is the pinnacle of that sport.

Just watching Brazil v Mexico. Rest assured, he won’t be tired because he is taking a very low energy approach.

Are they the Olympic champions of the world?

Hope so...I don't wanna see Neymar ugly-cry ever again. (even if he's too old to be an Olympian)
