Personally I think he'd only go back to City if he was given guarantees he was in their plans, so this buy back to flog on theory doesn't hold water to me. He's an international who'd want Man City wages which straight away would probably cause problems for the 3rd party club unless they knew one of the big boys wanted him . Plus nobody likes being messed around like that

Man City don’t typically act like that too.  I think they’d only activate the clause if they want to use him rather than to flip him.  Spurs on the other hand...

Should be we retain him, securing the long term future of a 23year old Brazilian international who has lots of room to improve isn’t anything to be stick our noses up at.

He was bloody brilliant at the end of the 2019/20 season and the start of last season.  People were purring at how good he was and how he was going to brilliant for years to come.  That's how good he can be.  He had a poor second half of the season, but he's a quality footballer given time.

City won't activate this clause and that's good news as Dougie can be a great asset for us in the next few years.

We still need to find the best role for him. He's got plenty of talent and two years of PL know-how.
