I don't think it's unfair to say that all the midfielders have question marks hanging over them and could be upgraded on in the Summer. It's the big weak link in our team at the moment. Grealish aside obviously. There's room for improvement allround.

Teun Koopmeiners for Luiz/McGinn
Luis Sinisterra for Trezeguet
Michael Olise for Barkley

All would add a different dimension to us in midfield and they wouldn't cost the earth.

The balance in our midfield just isn't right. We have six central midfielders all of moderate to decent quality but we can't quite get the right combination to show some form at the moment.

Do we know who the players that had Covid were? Dougie's drop in form certainly points to that, I had him in the top 5 players of the season up until the Covid break.

Watkins has 4 lungs, so it was never likely to effect him.

Only had a mild case apparently so could fit with the narrative of an unnamed player ( as far as I can recall) being called in to say he was positive and the player saying he was flying and felt fine.

Looks a shadow of the player he was in the first half of the season. Maybe Covid related but an absolute passenger. Something’s wrong.

His attitude and application for starters. His performance tonight was disgusting and right back to his abysmal pre covid standard last season. Didn't want to run or tackle tonight, in fact the most effort he showed all night was booting the ball into the stand at the end. It might be purely coincidental that's there an upcoming international break.

As in saving himself? Could be.

What has happened here? He was fantastic up to Christmas and has been woeful since the return.

What's with the secrecy surrounding our Covid outbreak? When it comes to other clubs I know who had Covid but haven't the foggiest idea when it comes to my own.

Looks a shadow of the player he was back end of last season. Haven’t been struck on him at all this season consistency wise , won’t be too upset if he doesn’t feature next season.

Weeks? Months. Adds nothing at the moment. Man City my arse. Upgrade incoming this summer, not physical or mobile enough.

Out of form, but young, and very talented player. His form post restart is one of the reasons we’re still in the top flight and he was really good earlier in the season. I wonder if the relentless schedule and lack of preseason has taken it out of him, more than most.
