12th May was his last match for Girona in La Liga.

He also played, and won Player of the Tournament, for Brazil under-22's in the Toulon Tournament. He played a full 120 minutes and scored in the shootout in the Final on 15th June.
Cheers :-)  So he's had roughly 7 weeks with out a competitive match which would probably suggest he won't feature for a bit.

I'm not sure, he looks like he's been doing a lot of work on his fitness over the last few weeks so I think the problem with putting him into the squad is more familiarity with the team than fitness. The match sharpness will only come from game time anyway and, regardless of pre-season, a lot of players across the league will be short on that. He probably won't be involved against spurs but I suspect he'll play a part against Bournemouth.

Do we know for sure that the Work Permit has been approved, or is it still just based on those reports from Brazil ?

Surprised that there's nothing about Douglas reportedly being granted his Work Permit on the Official Website? If true, you'd think they'd want to announce it?

Great news to have it confirmed.  I think this is the player that excites most of us so let's hope he loves up to the expectations.  Like others I am concerned about whether we have enough goals but I think this guy will help provide the right springboard for others to score more.

That will stop him panicking for all of five minutes hopefully.

Double confirmed, not as good as double secret probation but it will do.
